Analisis Pengaruh Bentuk Shroud Terhadap Gaya Dorong Electric Ducted Fan

Electric ducted fan (EDF) memiliki kelebihan dibanding sistem propulsi konvensional seperti mesin jet untuk digunakan dalam pesawat model atau pesawat ukuran penuh. Shroud mempunyai peran penting dalam mengarahkan udara agar fokus masuk ke dalam pusaran impeller. Udara yang masuk diteruskan ke belakang melalui duct dengan kecepatan lebih tinggi dibanding kecepatan masuk. Hal ini menghasilkan momentum yang menimbulkan gaya dorong. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh bentuk shroud terhadap gaya dorong yang dihasilkan. Pengujian gaya dorong dilakukan dengan simulasi menggunakan perangkat lunak komputer untuk memperoleh bentuk shroud yang paling efisien yang ditunjukkan dengan gaya dorong terbesar dari berbagai bentuk shroud. Pemodelan dilakukan dengan mencontoh produk yang sudah tersedia yaitu EDF FMS diameter duct 80 mm, jumlah bilah impeller 12, dan motor listrik seri 328021 2100KV. Simulasi dilakukan untuk radius shroud 5 mm, 6 mm, dan 7 mm dan masing-masing divariasikan dengan diameter shroud 102 mm,104 mm, 106 mm dengan kecepatan 60000 rpm. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa semakin besar radius dan diameter shroud, makin besar gaya dorong yang diperoleh Gaya dorong terbesar dihasilkan oleh penggunaan diameter shroud 7 mm dan diameter 106 mm sebesar 34 N.
