ANALISA PENGARUH VARIASI TEKANAN PADA PENGECORAN SQUEEZE TERHADAP KEKERASAN PRODUK SEPATU KAMPAS REM DENGAN BAHAN ALUMINIUM (Al) SILIKON (Si) DAUR ULANG

Pengecoran squeeze adalah proses pengecoran dimana logam cair dibekukan dibawah tekanan tinggi dengan menggunakan tenaga hidrolik, proses ini pada dasarnya mengkombinasikan keuntungan dari proses tempa dan pengecoran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh tekanan terhadap struktur mikro dan kekerasan pada proses pengecoran squeeze pada paduan aluminium daur ulang pada produksi kampas rem sepeda motor. Paduan dilebur pada tungku peleburan dan dituang pada temperatur 700°C pada cetakan yang dipanaskan pada temperatur 400°C, kemudian diberikan variasi tekanan 125,71 MPa, 188,57 MPa dan 251,43 MPa. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi tekanan yang diberikan dapat mengurangi cacat penyusutan, struktur silikon makin halus, dan meningkatkan nilai kekerasan.
