PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN Cu PADA PADUAN Al-7Si TERHADAP SIFAT MEKANIS DAN STRUKTUR MIKRO HASIL CORAN KEPALA SILINDER MOTOR 2 TAK DENGAN METODE PENGECORAN LOST FOAM CASTING

Tujuan penelitan ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahkan Cu sebesar 3% pada paduan Al-7Si terhadap sifat fisis dan mekanis pada hasil coran kepala silinder (head cylinder) sepeda motor 2 Tak yang dicor dengan metode lost foam casting (LFC). Aluminium paduan Al-7Si sebelum dan sesudah penambahan Cu dilebur menggunakan dapur krusibel pada temperatur 750 oC dan selanjutnya dituangkan kedalam pola styrofoam yang sudah dipersiapkan sebelumnya. Untuk mengamati sifat fisis dan mekanis hasil penambahan Cu pada aluminium Al-7Si, hasil coran dipotong pada beberapa bagian seperti pada bagian sirip dan alas/bawah kepala silinder. Benda cor sebelum dan sesudah penambahan Cu diuji nilai kekerasannya menggunakan mesin uji kekerasan metode Rockwell, sedangkan struktur mikro diamati menggunakan mikroskop optik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penambahan Cu sebesar 3% pada paduan Al-7Si menurunkan nilai kekerasan benda cor baik pada bagian sirip maupun pada bagian alas dari hasil coran head cylinder.
