HEGEMONI CHINA DI TENGAH PRODUKSI DAN DISTRIBUSI VAKSIN COVID-19

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 yang bermula pada tahun 2020 lalu telah memberikan dampak serta perubahan yang besar terhadap dunia, terkhususnya pada bidang kesehatan. Negara-negara didesak untuk dapat menangani penyebaran virus yang telah menginfeksi banyak orang tersebut. Salah satu cara yang dapat memberikan perlindungan serta kekebalan tubuh bagi manusia adalah dengan pemberian vaksin. Oleh karena itu, beberapa negara maju di dunia mulai berlomba-lomba untuk dapat menciptakan vaksin yang mampu memutus rantai penyebaran Covid-19. China sebagai salah satu negara produsen vaksin telah mampu menghasilkan produk vaksinnya sendiri dan kemudian mendistribusikannya ke berbagai negara di dunia. China dapat memproduksi vaksin dalam jumlah yang besar dan dengan waktu yang singkat. Meskipun dikenal sebagai negara yang menjadi sumber munculnya virus varian baru tersebut, mereka dapat memperbaiki citranya. Bahkan dengan usaha dan strategi seperti diplomasi vaksin, China justru menjadikan vaksin buatannya sebagai sumber kekuatan baru yang memperkuat posisinya di panggung internasional. Paper ini akan membahas tentang China yang merupakan salah satu produsen vaksin Covid-19 terbesar saat ini dan bagaimana produk mereka tersebut dapat memberikan hegemoni ataupun pengaruh ke negara-negara lain.
