Abstract
The Qur’an explains that women have an important role in Islam. Islam greatly glorifies women. Islam also considers women and men to have the same position, as Islam strongly recommends education for women, as well as having a social role that is no less important than men, this is proven by several verses in the Koran which discuss rights. and the same obligations towards men, on the other hand, women even have special rights in the process of birth and child rearing. There is no discrimination between men and women. The Qur'an conveys the principle of equality between men and women in all dimensions of social life. However, there are still certain arguments that indicate that women should limit their involvement in the public sphere. Ideally, the Qur'an should function as a framework and source of direction for Muslims in facing the challenges they face today. This article is library research. The research approach used in this article is descriptive qualitative content analysis using a thematic interpretation approach (Maudhū'ī), by collecting all or part of the verses of the Qur'an from several letters. who talk about the same topic and then relate them to each other so that in the end a comprehensive conclusion is drawn about the problem according to the view of the Qur'an. This research proves that women and men have the same rights and roles to actualize themselves in society, even in some cases women get the main portion, this can be seen in the verses of the Qur’an. When discussing men it is always related duties and responsibilities, while when discussing women the Qur’an always discusses their rights.
